Recognised for her captivating artistry and international presence, Katie Lo is an award-winning harpist and has been invited to give numerous harp recitals and performances in musical events across Hong Kong, London, Singapore, Korea, Australia, and the US. Having commenced her harp journey at the age of 9 and pursued studies under Dan Yu, Katie has become an active participant in international competitions and has received significant awards and recognition. Accolades include gold medal in the 3rd Hong Kong Harp Competition, first prize in the 7th French International Harp Competition, second prize at the 5th USA Young Artist’s Harp Competition.

As an orchestral musician, Katie has performed with renowned ensembles such as the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Hong Kong Symphonic Winds, Ponte London Orchestra, and the Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Brass.

Deeply committed to giving back to the community, Katie founded the Aspire Charity Harp Foundation (Aspire) in 2018, aiming to make harp music more accessible and support charitable initiatives through partnerships with NGOs and other organizations. Aspire has organized major events such as the Aspire Harp Charity Recitals in 2017 and 2021, in 2017 and 2021, and Harpy Holidays — a special recital held at the Hong Kong Fringe Club in December 2024 — raising a combined total of over HKD $300,000 for UNICEF and UNESCO. The foundation has also partnered with organizations including Playright, St. James Settlement, and HK Rehabilitation Power, delivering fundraising concerts, community harp workshops, and visits to elderly homes and children's hospitals. In recognition of her artistic achievements and community contributions, Katie was awarded the Top Ten Outstanding Tertiary Students Award in Hong Kong and the Worldwide Outstanding Chinese Student Award (全球華人傑出學生) — two of the most prestigious accolades in the Asia-Pacific region.

Katie earned an entrance scholarship for her studies as a Master’s Student in harp performance at the Royal Academy of Music, where she studied with Professor Skaila Kanga. She was also awarded a full tuition scholarship under the HK Scholarship of Excellence Scheme to support her studies in London. Prior to her time in the Academy, Katie completed her bachelor studies at the University of Hong Kong, with a double major in International Business & Global Management and Music, where she was on the Dean’s List for 5 consecutive semesters and graduated with First Class Honours.

In addition to her musical career, Katie is passionate about empowering young creatives and entrepreneurs. She is the founder of Her Circle Collective, a networking community dedicated to fostering creativity, connection, and collaboration among like-minded individuals.
